Is Sex Education the answer ?

Education about sex should not be a subject only confined to the school. Having said this I recognize the fact that Sex education is imparted in many schools during the biology class in its analytical format in theory. Many institutions invite professionals in the field like Doctors from their Alumni as guest lecturer to deal with the subject differently.

However I am of the opinion that sex education should be more participatory and the parents should take the major role in it. Just like a Girl is told how to handle herself after puberty a Boy should be coached to conduct himself after his first wet dream which generally is accompanied by a change of voice syndrome. And secondly every school should employ a counsellor to deal with referred students on regular basis on various aspects of growing up hiccups faced by them. After all the main aim of proper growing up should be respect for every gender and to live with human values.

Having said this...The mind set of people is that education can solve all the problems. I feel it is basic that every student should get a proper Sex education, how to conduct themselves in public and amongst friends. More than that what many are forgetting is that it is not enough to be well educated.

The comrade ship at the work place and mutual respect of collogues is more important, especially the people who deal with public service on the road like the Bus operators, Taxi drivers, Hospital staff and the police. There should be regular fellowship program amongst those who depend on each other on a regular basis. This will bring in confidence and to a large extent mutual respect. Lastly one needs to equip oneself with the knowledge of what to do in emergency situations.
